Meet the instructors at Sabal Taekwondo!
Master and Head Instructor/Coach
Jamie Costello
Master Jamie Costello started Taekwondo in 1993 at the age of 5 under the tutelage of Master Bill Ferkile in St. Petersburg, FL. She relocated to Rhode Island in 2001, and there cultivated her passion for teaching while working with the leadership development team under Grandmaster Jin Sup Hong and Master Sung Park. Master Jamie returned to the Tampa Bay area in 2007, and assisted Master Craig Metzger. She received her 4th Dan in 2023, and is a Kukkiwon-certified instructor, and is a part of the Kukkiwon Branch of Florida.

Angela Costello
Ms. Angela Costello also started Taekwondo in 1993, at age 10, with Master Ferkile in St. Petersburg. She relocated to Rhode Island in 2002 and joined Jamie training under Grandmaster Hong and Master Park. She took a break from the sport to pursue college and participation in Historic European Martial Arts (HEMA) before returning to Taekwondo in 2021 after moving back to Tampa. She has her certification as a self-defense instructor, and is working toward her yoga instructor certification with a focus on yin and restorative yoga for sport recovery.
The sabal palm is the state tree of Florida, but it also stands for resilience and strength!
